When holding a private sale at an estate is the best route to take, we will suggest this option. There can be several reasons for taking this route of liquidation including parking constraints, not enough merchandise to conduct a public estate sale, or simply you the client do not wish to have a public sale.
The guidelines for conducting a private sale are basically the same as a public sale with the exception that the clientele consists of only select and invited buyers. Another option we provide is advertising your estate by appointment only to the public. The commission for this service is decided upon review of the estate and may include a minimum. Optional services available to public sale clients are also available to our private clients upon request.
Our normal rate for this service is $800 minimum with a 30% commission after minimum equivalent is met. This means if we reach over a total of $2667 in sales, you are no longer charged the minimum and will only be charged 30% of the sale revenue. The minimum and commission rates may change depending on the estate.
We do not provide clean out or buy out services for private estate sales we conduct as we feel this is a conflict of interest, but can assist you in connecting with a third party company to handle such services if necessary.
Brokering & Online Sales
When brokering or holding an online sale at an estate is the best route to take, we will suggest this option. There can be several reasons for taking this route of liquidation including parking constraints, lower local market interest, or simply you the client do not wish to have an onsite public sale. We have several outlets for brokering and online sales; including select auction houses, eBay and the EstateSales.Net online auction marketplace.
